Jamavar, an award-winning Indian restaurant on Mount Street, opened its doors in December 2016. Founded by Samyukta Nair and her father, Dinesh, Jamavar is the 6th restaurant and the first overseas outpost from The Leela Palaces, a group of luxury hotels across India. Led by Culinary Director, Surender Mohan, the Jamavar menu showcases dishes from both the Royal kitchens of Northern India, and the coastal cuisine from the Southern states, exploring pan-Indian flavours using a range of authentic cooking techniques. Main courses include Old Delhi butter chicken curry, made with Suffolk corn-fed, chargrilled & pulled chicken, fresh tomato and fenugreek, and tandoor-cooked Malai stone bass tikka, with mace, green cardamom & avocado chutney. Chilli Chikki lava chocolate fondant, with cinnamon kulfi and caramelised pecans, and rhubarb Chuski Falooda, with basil seeds, rhubarb & saffron rabri kul, complete the menu with a sweet note.
