Will Ramsay’s best restaurant be a northerner?

So, we wait with bated breath to see which restaurants will make it to the semi final for the 2010 Ramsay’s Best Restaurant Award.

It’s refreshing to see that regional restaurants are fighting their corner well this year and we even have two restaurants flying the flag for the north of England.

In the first week, Bristol’s Casamia restaurant won the Italian category, beating London’s Mennula.

Then in episode two, Prashad a tiny little vegetarian restaurant in Bradford, West Yorkshire, beat rival Brilliant Restaurant from Southall in London, to claim their place in the semi final.  Hot on their heels this week was Yu and You who beat the Michelin starred Kai, from London’s Mayfair to take the title of Ramsay’s Best Chinese  restaurant and go forward into the semi final.

The next round will apparently see The Milestone gastro pub from Sheffield go head to head with The West House at Biddenden.   Let battle commence… it will be interesting to see which of the two will go on to join the semi final.
